Suggested Itinerary 

Day 1: Palermo and Monreale
The tour starts from Palermo. Arrival at Punta Raisi Airport.
After collecting your rental car the day is dedicated to the guided tour of the Highlights of Palermo. You private guide will take you to  Palermo’s real heart made of  monuments, hidden gems, Unesco sites, alleys and food market. You’ll visit the striking Palatine Chapel, an evocative chapel dating back to the 12th century with amazing mosaics and some of the rooms of the Royal Palace. The spectacular Massimo Theatre, the biggest Opera House in Italy and one of the largest of Europe. In the afternoon you can head towards Monreale, renowned for its striking Cathedral, with its fascinating Byzantine golden mosaics, known as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Day 2: Segesta, Erice, Marsala and Salt Pans Experience
The second day of the inspiring Tour of Western Sicily will first give you the chance to discover Segesta, founded by Aeneas, where you can admire the Doric temple known as Tempio Solitario.Though never completed it is considered of the best preserved examples of a Greek temple. Afterwards, we’ll be reaching the spectacular hill town of Erice which combines medieval charm with astounding views over the Egadi Islands. After lunch in a local tavern, drive to Trapani passing Salt Pans you can  learn about the history and process of salt harvesting at the Museum of the Salt in Trapani.
Arrive in Marsala city of wine and baroque churches. 
Relax at hotel and get ready for  special dinner in a winery. Visit the historic cellars, the underground barrique cellar and taste 4 wines paired with Sicilian food specialties before your lavish dinner in the same winery.
Overnight in Marsala. 

Day 3: Selinunte and Agrigento
After breakfast head towards Agrigento. Driving  across western part of Sicily, the scent of lemon groves, the stunning scenery that sees the juxtaposition of sea, volcano and mountain will take your breath away. Reach the archaeological site of Selinunte with its impressive Greek ruins continue to Agrigento and its famous Valley of the Temples. Your private guide will take you into an exciting walk through the archaeological area, an amazing landscape characterized by green olive trees and centuries-old almond trees. See the Temple of Hephaestus (Vulcan), the Temple of Heracles until you reach the Temple of Concord, which is one of the best preserved temples of antiquity and eventually reach on the edge of the hill the Temple of Juno.

Day 4: Piazza Armerina and Cefalù
Today you travel through the interior of Sicily to reach Piazza Armerina where you will see the ruins of the Roman Villa del Casale, an ancient villa decorated with the finest Roman floor mosaics in existence. It is one of the 44 UNESCO World Heritage sites in Italy. Continue your trip to the  picturesque fishermen’s village of Cefalù, one of the best places where to eat the typical Sicilian street food. Giuseppe Tornatore chose to set parts of his much-loved film Cinema Paradiso here. See the town, learn the legends and try some food that you never would have thought of trying.

Day 5 Cefalù and Palermo
Drive to Palermo. Drop off your car rental at the airport or train station or if you have more time to spend in Sicily, we can customize your self drive tour of Western and Eastern Sicily from Palermo.
